YOUR ROLE

A Senior Marketing Consultant’s role at Sundog is to guide our clients through the development and implementation of a transformational strategy in their marketing programs. Your job is to help clients identify marketing outcomes that drive towards their business objectives, map out a long-term strategy for achieving those outcomes, and then help Sundog experts implement projects that will execute that strategy step-by-step. A successful candidate for this position will demonstrate a highly elevated strategic mindset, as well as strong leadership capability. You have a deep expertise in one or marketing areas, such as content marketing, analytics and optimization, brand expression and creative, customer experience, research, user experience, content strategy, or a related field. But you also have a functional knowledge spanning across many marketing skills that you can draw on for successful strategic insight.

In addition, you seek ownership of that strategy, seeking input from clients to make sure they feel heard and understood in their needs. You also seek ownership in clearly communicating with your teammates, doing everything possible to set them up for success.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Consulting

  • Understand our client’s business, diagnose marketing challenges, align challenges to strategies, facilitate quality execution, and serve as an ongoing advisor.
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership in the development and execution of clients’ marketing solutions.
  • Manage multiple account portfolios, client teams and projects simultaneously.
  • Develop and maintain marketing strategy that integrates digital channels, websites, and other customer facing digital experiences.

Communicating

  • Demonstrates a consultative mindset and desire to work well with client.
  • Communicate consistently and proactively with a team of specialists to ensure that client needs are being met.
  • Clearly define project scope and objectives to client and internal team members.
  • Proactively communicate to the client and project team any issues that may affect scope, budget or timeliness of delivery for projects.
  • You welcome feedback in areas of growth.

Planning

  • Identify key needs to complete work, while collaborating across the team and account leadership to help define scope of work.
  • Work with team to ensure that deliverables meet the client expectations for work output..

Driving

  • Accurately document, baseline and communicate scope to both internal teams and and clients.
  • Plan and initiate scope management.
  • Schedule and lead client backlog grooming sessions and iteration reviews.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • A passion for learning about concepts such as digital marketing and digital transformation, as well as the desire to stay knowledgeable on the latest innovations in marketing and strategy.
  • A proven track record of success in marketing, particularly in helping teams transform into effective digital marketing experts.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • You can handle stressful situations and tight deadlines.
  • You learn quickly, and can maintain a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with team members across a range of expertise.
  • Strong knowledge of omnichannel marketing and using a customer journey to create customer engagement across channels.
  • Solid knowledge of branding and its application across channels and websites.
  • Working knowledge of SEO, UX/Design processes, research, etc., as well as analytics and using data for measurement and optimization.
  • Preference for experience working within B2B marketing programs.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates expertise and previous work experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or related field.
  • 10 years or more of experience in marketing or similar field
