INSIGHT CONSULTANT

YOUR ROLE

As an Insight Consultant, you are responsible for guiding clients on the strategic use of data to target, optimize and measure the performance of marketing initiatives. As marketers seek to become more sophisticated in their use of data, you understand how to translate those needs into data models and measurement solutions. You use your combination of analytical thinking and excellent communication skills to uncover valuable insights and inform marketing strategies for our clients.

  • You have the background and education to be successful:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Data Science, Management Information Systems or related discipline (or equivalent training/experience).
    • 5+ years work experience related to data, analytics, marketing, consulting, business finance or information technology.
  • Experience with the following areas is helpful:
    • Marketing data platforms including ad serving, web analytics, SEO, tag management, social listening, marketing intelligence, marketing automation and CRM solutions.
    • Database architecture, tagging and business intelligence/analytics tools.
    • HTML, Java, JSON, SQL and other scripting languages.
  • You are a self starter and take initiative on your own to deliver the best possible results.
  • You can handle stressful situations and tight deadlines.
  • You learn quickly and possess a positive, professional attitude.
  • You have a sense of humor and a work-hard/play-hard mindset.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Guide clients on how to best use data to inform decisions and optimize marketing efforts.
  • Translate marketing strategy needs into data models and measurement solutions.
  • Translate data findings into meaningful insights that inform marketing strategy recommendations.
  • Consult on how to structure data for optimal use across various marketing platforms, including ad serving, web analytics, SEO, tag management, social listening, marketing intelligence, marketing automation and CRM tools.
  • Ensure dashboards are designed to effectively tell the story behind the success of marketing initiatives.
  • Define and document definitions, processes, and technical solutions related to data and measurement solutions.
  • Stay up to date on industry-leading analytics, data science and intelligence solutions related to marketing and customer data.
  • Listen to client needs, gather requirements, ask thoughtful questions, propose solutions, and ensure we meet those needs.
  • Identify key deliverables, create estimates and develop proposal and/or statement of work documents for client engagements.
  • Fulfill the “Product Owner” role for data and measurement projects - writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria and test scenarios, assigning tasks and ensuring quality standards are met.

A BIT MORE INFORMATION

  • Open to travel. We often use video and web conferencing technologies to bridge geographical distances, but you may need to visit clients on-site. An Insight Consultant should be available to travel for short trips, typically less than five days a month.   
  • Position may be based in Fargo or Minneapolis.
